Reed's Mill was constructed in the 1830's by John Reed and was one of the first saw mills in Northern California. In May 1890, the mill site was used for a public land auction of parcels that signaled the founding of the City of Mill Valley. A historically accurate reconstruction of the mill was undertaken by the city of Mill Valley in 1990.
