The Poozeum in Williams, Arizona, is a free museum devoted to coprolites, built from George Frandsen’s private collection after years as an online project and traveling exhibition before opening a permanent Route 66 site in 2024. Frandsen began collecting as a teenager and assembled a collection recognized in 2016 by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest of its kind, later growing to about 8,000 specimens. Spanning roughly 10,000 years to 400 million years ago, the collection includes examples from crocodilians and dinosaurs. Its best-known exhibit, Barnum, is the largest known carnivore coprolite, likely from a Tyrannosaurus rex.
