Akron Falls Park is a 284-acre public park in the Village of Akron and the Town of Newstead in western New York, centered on Akron Falls, a 40-foot waterfall on Murder Creek. The park’s core was first managed by the Village of Akron in the early 1930s, and in 1933 Civil Works Administration workers helped shape its early development. Transferred to Erie County in 1947, it became one of the county’s oldest parks and later expanded with adjoining land. Its waterfall, trails, sports fields and courts, picnic shelters, and winter recreation facilities have made it a year-round local landmark within Erie County’s park system.
