This memorial is dedicated to the veterans of Jefferson County and honors them with the words, "The nation which forgets its defenders will be itself forgotten." It was dedicated on December 7, 2002, and also bears the tribute, "To give a life is a miracle of God To lose a veteran is an unforgettable memory," along with the name of a veteran's friend, Howard W. Phillips.
