Ellaville High School served African-American students in Ellaville until 1951, when a State Department of Education study recommended consolidating all Black schools in Schley County. Located on Spivey Street and Poplar Circle, the frame building functioned as both a school and a community center. It remained in use as a school until 1957, when the John H. Lewis School was built, and it was demolished sometime afterward.
