The Tveit Homestead was claimed in October 1882 by Iver Lars Tveit. Iver brought his bride Marta here in 1883, then his parents Lars and Ragnhilde in 1885. Lewis, Belle, Hilda, Andrew, Sophie, Martin, John, and Bill Tveit were born and raised here. Members of the four generations that followed returned to these roots in July 2009 to remember and honor the heritage they left.
