From 1883 to 1924, Cavalli’s Blacksmith Shop stood adjacent to this site and served the truck farmers in the area. Joe Cavalli, who lived from 1883 to 1946, was the first and last sheriff of Lawndale from 1924 to 1942 and the first Chief of Police of Colma from 1942 to 1946.
