Quincy Shore Reservation is a protected shoreline on Quincy Bay in Boston Harbor and part of Greater Boston’s Metropolitan Park System. Established in 1889 for public recreation, it is known for Wollaston Beach, a 2.3-mile strand that is the largest beach on Boston Harbor, with Quincy Shore Drive extending access along the waterfront. The reservation also includes Moswetuset Hummock, associated with a 1621 meeting between Plymouth Colony military commander Myles Standish and the local sachem Chickatawbut and cited as a source for the name Massachusetts. Caddy Park preserves a salt marsh, and together these features give the reservation both recreational and historical importance.
