Goldsmith Coffeen’s home was unusual in both design and plan. Built according to his plans, the three-story house is six-sided, or a hexagon. Such houses were thought to have the most practical and healthful plan. Although its foyer and thirteen closets were triangle-shaped, most rooms were normal. In 1984 it was placed on the National Register.
