This veterans memorial honors those who served in World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, and recalls the duty, sacrifice, gratitude, remembrance, and promise associated with their service through quoted reflections by James R. Lawson, President Harry S. Truman, Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, Major Michael Davis O'Donnell, President John F. Kennedy, and Michael D. "Moon" Mullins. It also remembers members of the 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Division in Vietnam, including SP4 Charles D. Crowe, SP4 Roy Roger Blewett, SGT Howard "Gator" Barker, SP4 Larry "Deacon" Brown, SP4 Otto "Lenney" Leonard, and SP4 Donald D. Arnot, and recognizes three generations of the Sollars family: PFC Guy Ora Sollars of the 128th Machine Gun Battalion, 35th Division in World War I, SSGT George Leland Sollars of the 56th Fighter Squadron, 8th Army Air Corps in World War II Europe, and SSGT Russell Dean Sollars of Battery C, 82nd Field Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division in Korea. Also present is an M109A2 self-propelled 155 howitzer donated by the U.S. Army to Adrian VFW Post 1935, placed on the site on November 27, 2007, and dedicated on May 29, 2010.
