Niter Ice Cave is an ice cave about 3 miles south of Grace in southeastern Idaho, a geological feature in Caribou County generally understood to be part of an old lava tube. It most likely formed when a volcanic eruption thousands of years ago created a large lava tube that later cooled and remained as the cave seen today. Early settlers put the cave to practical use by storing food there and collecting ice throughout the year, and it also became a place for picnics and recreation. The site has also been affected by explicit drawings and graffiti on and around the cave.
