Nature
Bowen Wildlife Management Area is a state wildlife management area in Prince George's County, Maryland, distinguished by a landscape that is about eighty percent water. Its extensive wetlands and waterways shape both its habitat and its use. The property became state-owned in 1955 when Harry L. Bowen transferred it to Maryland for one dollar. It is especially known for waterfowl hunting and canoeing, with its largely water-covered terrain giving the area both ecological importance and recreational appeal.
