G.B. Freeman Jr. served as a gunner and sergeant in the 4th Marines, 6th Division, during World War II at Okinawa from 1942 to 1945, and Terry L. Rush served as a sergeant in the 1st Marine Air Wing during the Tet Offensive in Vietnam from 1964 to 1968; they were father and brother of Richard Freeman Sr. and family.
