Miller's Point was named by the Union Pacific Masonic Club on February 22, 1935, and dedicated by St. John Lodge No. 18 F & A M on August 18, 1935. Cathedral Gorge was named by Mrs. W. S. Godbe in 1894, designated a state park by Gov. Jas G. Scrugham in 1926, and created a State Park by the Nevada Legislature in 1935.
