Dr. Warren Ownby built this house in 1908-09. He was an early osteopathic doctor. His wife, Phenie Lou Ownby, was the first and only woman mayor to serve Broken Arrow, the first woman mayor in the state, and the sixth in the nation. She was elected in 1931. The Kerm Rutledge family spent years restoring the house.
