James Arthur "Jimmy" D'Imperio served as a Specialist 4 in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Era in the Military Personnel Division of the Defense Intelligence Agency at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. A personal records clerk, he was one of the last men drafted from Delaware County to serve during the Vietnam conflict. He served with duty and commitment, and his commanding officer praised his cool headedness in handling senior officers and said his diligent application of sound judgment in understanding personnel problems showed his ability and technical expertise. He was inducted on 25 September 1972 in Albany, NY, and honorably discharged on 24 September 1974 at Fort Myer, VA.
