Milan Dujka, a lifelong Ross resident and former Ross fence buster, served his country during World War II as Staff Sergeant Dujka in the 143rd Infantry, M Company, of the Texas 36th Infantry Division. Born in 1915 and dying in 1994, he received the Silver Star for gallantry in action in Italy during the crossing of the Rapido River, and his wartime service extended through Africa, Italy, France, Germany, and Austria.
