Legislative Hall became Delaware's new capitol building in 1933, replacing The Old State House on The Green. It is the meeting place of the Senate and House of Representatives of Delaware's General Assembly, and it also contains legislators' offices and the formal office of the Governor. Murals of Delaware history, portrait galleries of Delaware governors and military heroes, and changing exhibits are displayed there. Delaware's General Assembly consists of 21 senators elected to four-year terms and 41 representatives elected to two-year terms. The General Assembly meets most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from the second week of January through the end of June, with a recess from February to mid-March, and all sessions are open to the public.
