St. Paul's Reformed Church stood on this site from 1769 to 1869. John Ignatius Effinger, a Continental soldier and member of General George Washington's Corps of Dragoons from 1778 to 1783, was an active member of the church. He is buried in the southwest corner of the church cemetery, and the site is associated with St. Paul's UCC at 235 South Main Street, Woodstock.
