Watching wildlife can be a lot of fun, but many animals are elusive and wary, so people need to move slowly and quietly. Early morning and late afternoons are usually the best times to see wildlife, and a pair of binoculars is helpful. Even when an animal is not visible, signs of its presence may appear in tracks, scat (droppings), or feathers, and nature also offers a symphony of sounds. Wildlife found here includes osprey, great heron, river otter, muskrat, common gray fox, blue crab, snapping turtle, and northern water snake.
