Gina Smith Campbell's vision and industry led to the establishment of the Dell Rapids Bathing Beach in 1917. This building was dedicated to her on the 4th day of July, 1934. It was built by the Dell Rapids Park Board and the city council in cooperation with the Civil Works Administration and was designed and supervised by P. L. Peterson. The Park Board included Earl Billiter, F. M. Enright, Harry Hink, Henry T. Myers, and president Ervin P. Van Buren. The City Council included F. T. Anderson, Ed. J. Borstad, M. C. Dietrich, Jas. Fairhurst, E. P. Shiveley, J. Greening, L. Halvorson, T. E. Johnston, F. M. Phillips, and mayor Morris Henderson.
