Saint Peter’s Churchyard, with its church built in 1767, and the adjoining Old Van Cortlandtville Cemetery on the southeast form a burying ground where forty-four known soldiers of the American Revolution are interred. A monument to John Paulding was erected there in 1827 by the City of New York, which has care under the endowment.
