Riverbank was dedicated as a public park by the City of Westbrook on June 9, 1914, on the one hundredth anniversary of the incorporation of the Town of Westbrook by authority of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on June 9, 1814, after it had formerly been part of Old Falmouth. The boulder there was brought from near the crest of Rocky Hill.
