From 1917 to 1918, 137 men from Point Pleasant Beach served in World War I. Citizens of Point Pleasant and the surrounding vicinity erected and dedicated this memorial on May 30, 1925, and it was rededicated in 1977 by American Legion Post 196 and friends.
