The Vietnam War took the lives of fourteen service members from Rayville, Richmond, Orrick, Lawson, Henrietta, and Wood Heights, Missouri: TSgt Thomas Newton Sloan of the U.S. Air Force; PFC David Wayne Utley, Cpl Henry Clayton Casebolt, Sgt Harold Ivan Loyd, and SSgt Larry Dale Bunch of the U.S. Marines; BM2 Raleigh Lee Godley of the U.S. Navy; and SP4 Forrest Pittman Dickey, CPL Harold Kenneth Southwick, CPL Dorsie Eugene Register, SP4 Robert W. Bates, SGT John Chad Price, SGT Donald C. Smith, CPL Marvin L. McCullough, and CPL Edmund A. Petrechko, Jr. of the U.S. Army, who was listed as POW/MIA. Their names are joined to an appeal to remember the young who died, to give meaning to their deaths, to give thanks for those who returned, and to pray for those who remain.
