The Rural School Children of Woodson County honored the Woodson County boys who entered the World War and remembered those who died in service, invoking McCrae’s words about taking up the torch from failing hands and keeping faith with the dead. Those who died in service were Casper M. Anderson, Carl C. Culver, Ennis C. Denney, Alcy Doty, Solomon S. Dutro, William A. Elvin, Homer M. Gann, Andrew J. Hasstedt, Bert F. Hughes, Martin E. Ireland, John E. Johnson, Lee L. Leonard, Clarence J. Lieurance, Thomas P. Mahoney, Grant C. Smith, Alfred W. Walton, and Fred B. Work.
