Anderson Lake State Park is a 496-acre public recreation area on Washington’s Quimper Peninsula, about seven miles south of Port Townsend. Its woods and wetlands slope down to 70-acre Anderson Lake, which anchors the landscape and supports non-motorized boating, fishing, and birdwatching. The park also offers picnicking and trails for hiking, biking, and equestrian use. A recurring challenge is toxic algae in the lake, especially in late spring and summer, when blooms can force bans on all water use and disrupt lake activities. Despite those periodic closures, the park remains an important outdoor destination in the area.
