Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando, Florida, combines a botanical garden with a historic home on nearly 50 acres of landscaped grounds and lakes. Established after Harry P. Leu and Mary Jane Leu bought the Leu House and 40 acres in 1936, the property grew through their travels and plant collecting into a notable subtropical and tropical garden, especially known for camellias. Beneath centuries-old oaks, the site also preserves the restored Leu House Museum, listed on the National Register and interpreted through tours of turn-of-the-century Florida life. In 1961, the Leus deeded the property to the City of Orlando, and it remains open to the public.
