Founded in 1905, Rotary International is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides community and humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs in 166 countries. The Napoleon Rotary Club served its community by providing scholarships to Napoleon area students, building two shelter houses in Napoleon, building a 123-person-capacity Rotary Lions Community Center for the benefit of Napoleon and Henry County, providing $10,000.00 to Henry County Hospital and $10,000.00 to the Henry County Community Foundation, participating in efforts to eradicate polio, contributing through Rotary International M. E. S. A. to provide a refurbished ambulance, hospital beds, artificial limbs, other medical equipment, fire equipment, hats, jackets, boots, gas masks, two dentists chairs, and eye examination equipment to Central American countries, building a small animal building at the Henry County Fairground, helping construct water wells in Haiti through Rotary District #6600, donating several park benches throughout Napoleon, contributing money and labor to the construction of Napoleon's Kids Kingdom, supporting Together We Can Make A Difference Initiatives and Napoleon's Symphony of Trees, donating to the Veterans Memorial Park of Napoleon, and providing a Santa House for children of the Napoleon area. Rotary also advances service through the Four-Way Test, asking whether something is the truth, fair to all concerned, will build goodwill and better friendships, and will be beneficial to all concerned, and through an object that encourages service, ethical standards, the application of service in personal, business, and community life, and international understanding, goodwill, and peace.
