William Truman Ford, a longtime member of Lovedale Baptist Church, gave an extremely generous endowment to the Lovedale Baptist Church Cemetery Trust Fund for the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the cemetery. Ford and members of his family are interred there, along with other late members of the church. In grateful acknowledgement of his generosity, the cemetery was beautified by planting dogwood trees in his memory.
