George Fisher, an early Illinois physician, served as sheriff of Randolph County, as a member of the first House of Representatives of Indiana Territory, as Speaker of the House in the first and third Illinois Territorial Assemblies from 1812 to 1814 and from 1816 to 1818, and as a member of the first Illinois Constitutional Convention in 1818. His body lies here.
