Youngs River Falls is a 54-foot waterfall on the Youngs River in Clatsop County, about 10 miles south of Astoria in northwestern Oregon. Americans first reported the falls in March 1806 when a hunting party from the Lewis and Clark Expedition encountered them, linking the site to one of the most famous U.S. exploring expeditions near the Pacific. The waterfall later appeared in several films, including Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home, Benji the Hunted, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III. It remains a well-known scenic spot, but its modern reputation has also been marked by fatal accidents in 2014 and 2016.
