Adalbert Inama, O. Praem., was born in Wilton, Tyrol Dec. 26, 1798, came to Roxbury in 1845, and became Dane County's first resident Catholic priest. He labored in Dane, Iowa, Columbia, Dodge, Jefferson, Sauk, and Waukesha counties, and repeatedly read Mass in the Assembly chamber of the Capitol in Madison. A chapel and dwelling for the first Catholic church in Dane County stood one half mile west.
