Ken Hendricks, who lived from 1941 to 2007, committed himself to Beloit, its citizens, and its institutions as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, visionary, and motivator. He dedicated his life and personal resources to the redevelopment of Beloit, transforming the community by repurposing previously abandoned buildings, including redevelopment of the Fairbanks Morse site into the BC Supply National Support Center, restoration of the Beloit Ironworks complex, and commissioning heritage art along the Rock River. His efforts helped boost civic pride, restore confidence, and inspire many citizens to believe in themselves and their community again. He served as a board member of numerous local organizations, strongly supported efforts to enhance educational opportunities for young people, and invested his knowledge, skill, experience, and capital in local businesses to create jobs for Beloit's citizens. Known for connecting people and places, he left a lasting legacy tied to Beloit's strength, vitality, and promising future.
