Just outside Fort Pierce, Florida, the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum preserves the history of the U.S. Navy’s Underwater Demolition Teams and SEAL teams, whose original frogmen first trained there. Created through the efforts of former UDT veterans and opened in 1985, it traces naval special warfare from World War II to the present through artifacts, craft, training devices, and vehicles linked to combat operations and space recovery missions. Its focal point is the UDT-SEAL Memorial, honoring those who died in service. Congress recognized it as a National Museum in 2008, and plans approved in 2025 call for a major expansion.
