Salt Rock State Campground is a Connecticut state park in Sprague that preserves about a mile of wooded shoreline along the Shetucket River on 149 acres. Centered on the river and its surrounding forest, it serves as a public recreation area with RV and tent camping as well as fishing. The property became a state park in 2001, when Connecticut purchased it for US$750,000 from Dwight and Jean Lathrop. At the time, their careful stewardship of the land as previous owners drew notice, and the site has continued in recreational use under state ownership.
