In 1922, Arthur J. Tuttle, a federal judge and prominent Leslie citizen, donated this land to the Village of Leslie. Beginning in 1946, memorials were placed to honor military casualties of Leslie following World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam. In 1986, the gazebo was erected to celebrate the 150th birthday of the City of Leslie.
