A wagon track connecting the Enoree and Broad rivers was vital for communication and transport, prompted the British to establish a nearby camp, ran through the center of the American line, and played a strategic role in the Battle of Musgrove's Mill. When Patriot forces moved south from the Broad River toward Musgrove's Ford, they stayed off the main road to avoid detection in a region controlled by Loyalists, then rejoined the road near here and tried to spy on the enemy encamped along the Enoree's south bank.
