Lake George National Wildlife Refuge in central North Dakota lies on Lake George, also known as Salt Lake, near Streeter. Unlike many wildlife refuges, it is privately owned, while the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service holds easement rights to manage flooding rather than owning the land outright. It is one of six easement refuges administered under Long Lake National Wildlife Refuge. Closed to hunting, it serves as a protected area centered on habitat management and conservation.
