William D. Willson, born in 1840 and dying in 1917, came to Osgood in 1856 and served as an Indiana state legislator in 1868 and as joint representative in 1872. His Willson Dairy, on the south edge of Osgood, was distinguished as the largest in the United States owned by one man. He also served as first president of the Ripley County Bank and owned the Osgood Flour Mill and a stave business. His Queen Anne home was built in 1887 by Osgood architect John Andrews.
