Forest Park spans 1,371 acres in St. Louis and serves as the city's big backyard, with natural areas, restored historic landmarks, world-class cultural institutions, hundreds of wildlife species, and abundant opportunities for recreation and relaxation that draw more than 13 million visitors each year. After falling into disrepair during the second half of the last century, the park entered a new era through a $100 million restoration campaign led by Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis. Today, Forest Park Forever and the city continue to work together to restore, maintain, and sustain this civic treasure.
