Elinor Bedell State Park is an 80-acre public recreation area on the east shore of East Okoboji Lake in Dickinson County, preserving one of the last open stretches along the Iowa Great Lakes. Given to the state by former U.S. Congressman Berkley Bedell and his wife, Elinor, the park protects prairie, wetland, and oak savannah in a more natural lakeshore setting than much of the surrounding developed shoreline. Designed for quiet outdoor use rather than beach recreation, it offers trails, a wildlife viewing blind, camping, and access to habitat near waters known for a variety of game fish.
