Science Spectrum is a nonprofit science and technology museum in Lubbock, Texas, created through a local effort that began in the mid-1980s as residents studied museums in the United States and Canada and organized a board in 1986. It opened on February 11, 1989, as a hands-on center for public science learning and belongs to the Association of Science and Technology Centers. Under one roof, it combines more than 250 interactive exhibits, live science shows, an aquarium identified as the only one in West Texas, and an Omni Theater with a 160-degree domed screen. It has remained a longstanding educational destination in Lubbock.
