Opened in 1949, the Park Theatre was the only commercial movie theatre in El Sobrante. It was owned and built by Dick Jeha, a member of a prominent local family in the business community. More than just a movie house, the Park served for years as a site for live shows and civic and charitable events. Throughout the 1950s and 60s it was, in many ways, the heart of the town.
