Marvel Mills Logan was born in 1875 on this farm, attended Brownsville schools, was admitted to the bar in 1896, and practiced here. He served as Kentucky state attorney general in 1916-17, as judge of the Kentucky Court of Appeals from 1927 to 1930, and as a U. S. senator from Kentucky from March 1931 until his death in October 1939. He was Grand Sire of the World of the I.O.O.F., a pioneer promoter of Mammoth Cave as a national park in 1910, and taught Sunday School regularly for 35 years.
