Six servicemen from the Vietnam era are honored here: Delbert LeRoy Trube Jr., a PFC in the U.S. Marine Corps, born August 18, 1947, died March 5, 1966; Dennis Leon Anderson, a Lt. JG in the U.S. Navy, born October 24, 1942, died January 11, 1968; Jimmie Lester Todd, a MSgt in the U.S. Army, 15 Engr Bn, 9 Inf Div, born September 6, 1930, died February 28, 1968; James Isiah Fowler Jr., a Sgt in the U.S. Army, 1 Sq 5 Cav, 1 Cav Div, born October 27, 1939, died August 4, 1968; Kenneth James Brenner, a Cpl in the U.S. Army, HHC 5 Cav, 1 Cav Div, born June 15, 1948, died March 29, 1969; and Gerard Francis O'Connor, a WO in the U.S. Army, 162 Aslt Heli Co, born October 20, 1947, died April 26, 1970. Their remembrance is joined with Thomas Jefferson's words that the tree of liberty, from time to time, must be replenished with the blood of patriots.
