Ulcanush Baptist Church is the oldest continuous church in Clarke County. It was organized in 1816 as a prayer meeting and constituted as a full Baptist church in 1817. Its charter members were Roedy Allen, Michael Miller, John and Elizabeth Pace, William Stringer, William and Nancy Thorton, and Joseph Williams.
