Built in 1909 by Hansford County pioneers Bert O. Cator, J. H. Wright, and S. B. Hale, this Victorian building was the first hotel erected in Hansford. Cator had built the first dugout in the Panhandle in 1873, Hale was the first druggist in Old Hansford, and Wright promoted the town of Hansford, now abandoned. In 1920, after the railroad came into the county at this point, the building was moved 6 miles east to Spearman.
