Known and unknown Choctaw Apache Confederate soldiers honored in memory include Pvt Emmanuel Martinez of the Sabine Reserves, Louisiana Militia, identified as the father; Pvt Steve Martinez of the Consolidated Crescent Regiment, identified as the son; Pvt Robert Rivers of Company B, 28th Louisiana Infantry; Pvt John (Juan) Leone of Company C, 28th Gray's Louisiana Infantry; and Pvt Jose Irenco Leone of the Sabine Reserves, Louisiana Militia.
