Goleta Depot was built in 1901 near South Kellogg Avenue by the Southern Pacific Railroad Co. It was moved to this site on Nov. 19, 1981 by Goleta Beautiful and dedicated on Nov. 19, 1983 by the Native Sons of the Golden West under Grand President Walter G. Perazzo, with special recognition to the Depot Committee and its members Gary Coombs, Chairman, Phyllis J. Olsen, Raymond B. Baird, Eugene Allen, and George H. Adams. Its acquisition, restoration, and maintenance were made possible by many generous gifts of love, time, and resources, and it became Santa Barbara County Landmark No. 22.
